Frequently asked questions
Questions, answered.
What is Mirumi?
Mirumi is a small interactive bag charm robot by Yukai Engineering in Tokyo. It rides on your bag and quietly reacts to the world around it — glancing toward sounds, growing bashful when you touch it, and leaning into your hand when you pet its head. It is about 14cm tall, made of custom Japanese faux fur, and costs £129 in three colourways: Pink, Ivory and Gray.
Is this the official Mirumi?
Yes. We are Mirumi's official home in the UK, direct from Yukai Engineering in Tokyo. This is the only place to buy Mirumi in the UK — first at Harrods, then here. Every one is genuine, with UK warranty and support.
Is Mirumi an AI device?
No. Mirumi is not an AI-driven device and needs no app. It responds through simple sensors — sound sensors on each side of its body and a touch sensor on the back of its head — not artificial intelligence. There is nothing to set up and nothing to connect.
What does Mirumi actually do?
It notices you. Mirumi turns toward sounds, gets shy when you touch it, and nuzzles into a hand that pets it. It has no practical function — it does not track anything, hold anything or notify you of anything. Its only job is to be a little companion, and that is the point.
How much does Mirumi cost, and what colours are there?
Mirumi is £129, in one size (about 14cm). It comes in three colourways — Pink, Ivory and Gray — each in its own softly dyed custom faux fur.
Where can I buy Mirumi in the UK?
Mirumi is available at Harrods, Knightsbridge from 20 July 2026, and direct from mirumi.london from 1 September 2026. We are the only official UK stockist — there is no other UK source.
How does reserving work?
Reserving is free and takes no payment. You choose your colourway now and go on the list for first access to buy on 1 September. Nothing is charged — a reservation holds your place, not a specific item, and you are under no obligation to buy. You can change your mind or pick a different colour at checkout.
How long does the battery last?
Around 8 hours of companionship on a single charge — enough for a full day out. It recharges over USB-C with the included cable.
Is it waterproof, and how do I care for it?
No — Mirumi's custom faux fur prefers to stay dry. Keep it out of the rain, and clean it gently with a soft, dry brush.
What age is Mirumi suitable for?
Mirumi is designed for ages 15 and up. It is a fashion accessory rather than a toy, with small parts and delicate fur.
When does it ship?
Mirumi is at Harrods, London, from 20 July, and ships direct from mirumi.london from 1 September. Join the list to be first in line.
What is your returns policy?
14-day returns on unused Mirumi in original packaging, for orders placed direct with us. Harrods purchases follow Harrods' own returns policy.
Is there a warranty and UK support?
Yes. Every Mirumi bought from us comes with a UK warranty and support, looked after by our team in London. If anything is not right, write to info@mirumi.london.
